Browser Extension Terms

Our browser extension integrates with YouTube to provide summarization features. By installing the extension:

• You grant permission to access YouTube pages and video content
• You allow the extension to inject interfaces and control video playback
• You acknowledge that the extension may modify YouTube page appearance
• You agree that extension functionality depends on YouTube's terms of service

You may uninstall the extension at any time to discontinue these permissions.

Account Registration and Responsibilities

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Use the service only for lawful purposes

AI-Generated Content

SummaTube uses artificial intelligence to generate summaries and insights. You acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content may not be 100% accurate or complete
• Summaries are interpretations, not direct quotes from content creators
• You should verify important information from original sources
• AI models may produce varying results for the same content
• We continuously improve our AI systems but cannot guarantee perfection

Third-Party Services and Integrations

Our service integrates with various third-party providers:

AI and Machine Learning Services

• OpenAI, Google AI, Replicate, Fal.ai, xAI: Used for content generation and analysis
• Third-party transcription services: Used for video transcription services

Infrastructure Services

• Supabase: Database and authentication services
• Polar.sh: Payment processing and subscription management
• YouTube: Video content and metadata access

Your use of SummaTube is also subject to these third parties' terms of service. We are not responsible for their services or policies.

Subscription and Payment Terms

Some features require a paid subscription:

• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis
• Payment is processed securely through Polar.sh
• Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice
• Refunds are provided according to our refund policy
• You may cancel your subscription at any time
• Access continues until the end of your billing period after cancellation

Content and Usage Restrictions

You may not use SummaTube to:

• Summarize content that violates copyright or intellectual property rights
• Process illegal, harmful, or offensive material
• Infringe on privacy rights or share personal information without consent
• Promote violence, discrimination, harassment, or illegal activities
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract our AI models
• Use automated tools to access the service excessively
• Share account credentials or allow unauthorized access

Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of your original content and collections. SummaTube retains ownership of:

• Our software, algorithms, and AI models
• Generated summaries and insights (though you may use them personally)
• Our brand, trademarks, and service marks
• All rights not expressly granted to you

Data Export and Portability

You may export your summaries and collections in various formats (TXT, Markdown, DOCX, PDF). However:

• Export features are provided as-is without warranty
• You are responsible for exported content usage and distribution
• We may limit export frequency to prevent abuse
• Some premium features may require active subscription for full export access

Service Availability and Modifications

We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
• Update these Terms with material changes notified via email
• Temporarily suspend service for maintenance or security reasons
• Terminate accounts that violate these Terms

Disclaimer of Warranties

SummaTube is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy or completeness of AI-generated summaries
• Availability or uninterrupted service
• Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Security of data transmission or storage
• Compatibility with all devices or browsers

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SummaTube shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of profits, data, or use
• Business interruption or lost opportunities
• Damages from inaccurate AI-generated content
• Third-party service interruptions or failures

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SummaTube, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
